Lincoln Townhouse Paint Job Blows

   I happen to have the honor of living on our beautiful campus. I've put up this summer with water being turned off (and other times turned cloudy), roads being blocked and dug up seemingly randomly, horns and shouts of football practice in the too early morning, and the usual financial aid crap. No biggie, I'm not alone. Many others are used to this as well.

   But, because this wasn't enough, someone had the bright idea to paint the Lincoln Townhouses (the wooden apartments over by freshmen parking). They started by cleaning them, which I'll admit did help the overall appearance. After that, though, they went and managed to pick one of the ugliest colors to cover up the wood with. Take a look sometime.

   These buildings used to have a little bit of class, with a touch of rustic and a nice relaxed appealing image. Now they look like prefab wannabes. Wasn't it enough that we've remade practically all the parking lots on campus? That we've added entire new buildings, and reconstructed others?

   We here at The...TRUTH are beginning to believe that Judge Judy Bailif's driving desire at this University is to change it's look entirely before her stint here is over. Judy, if you wanted to change some apartments, how about doing something with the ugly brick ones instead?

   I realize that the Lincoln apartments are more visible to passers-by, so I guess that helped make them the "priority" for the face lift. The problem is that instead of a face lift, it looks more like they were slapped in the face by Monica Lewinsky.

   Unfortunately, nothing that is written here will do anything, so I make little if any effort to do much more than whine about this latest annoyance. All I can say, is "one more year... just one more year...."
